Our Week - 16.5.22

This week has been very busy!
In PE we have been playing tennis. We have learned to use the forehand, backhand and to serve.
In RE we have been learning about Judaism; this week we talked about Yom Kippur.
We have been singing a lot this week, preparing for Sterts after half term. Mrs Birch said we need to dress up in 70's style clothing!
Throughout English this week, we have been looking at persuasive adverts. Next week, we are going to write our own!

Welcome Back to the Summer Term

I hope you have all had an enjoyable Easter Break; managed to get outside, see family and play with friends.

As we begin the Summer Term, I would like to congratulate some children, who have already achieved their first Karate Reading Bands.

Well done to:
Kacey
Toby
Erin

During the Summer Term, PE will be on a Wednesday and Fit Friday also continues. Children may wear their PE kits into school on these days. We will be playing tennis and doing some athletics.

Our Learning Adventure questions is 'What can the journey of a river tell you?' We will be learning about rivers, doing Science experiments about rivers and visiting rivers! This week, the children have been creating a collage of the water cycle.

In RE we are learning about Judaism and Mr Bailey will teach this on a Thursday. I have been in contact with the Synagogue in Plymouth to see if we could visit too.

With the sun making an appearance, please remember sun cream/sun hats for breaks and lunchtime. It can get very hot out on the field some days!

Parents consultations will be available this term, watch out for our allocated days. Remember, you can always contact me prior to this though, if you have any questions or concerns.

Have a good week.
Mrs Birch :)

WKB 28.3.22

Good Morning All.

Firstly, I would like to say a huge thank you for all of your support and kind words towards my half marathon yesterday. I DID IT! I'm so pleased with my effort and have raised almost £1,500 for a fabulous charity. Thank you!

The weather has been glorious and although it is forecast cooler later this week, as it will become warmer again soon, please ensure your child has suncream applied and a sun hat for breaks.

This weeks spellings remain the same as last week, we didn't get much time to go through them with swimming. See last weeks blog for them if you haven't got them.

Swimming this week is Wednesday - Friday only. This is due to a pool closure on the Tuesday. Please circulate this information to each other.

With one week after this week until the Easter holidays, I will be doing some basic assessments with the children to see how well they have done this term. We are also hoping to complete their skateboards! Next week I would like to get some Easter activities in; between the last structured lessons. I am going to have an Easter bonnet/hat competition too......so get some ideas flowing!!

Have a great weekend.

Ms Birch :)
