Baking bread!

Year 1 have been learning about how the great fire of London started in a bakery and thought it would be a great idea to bake some bread!

We looked at different instructions, read through recipes and learned about imperative verbs.

We then wrote our own recipe for making bread.

Year 1 Maths

Part Whole Model.

Here is an example of how we can use the part whole model. The children have been looking at different ways to make the whole number and have used concrete objects to show this. They have also worked out how to find the whole number, by adding both parts together. Our next step is write addition number sentences.

We have had another sunny and busy week in R1C this week! The Reception children have been engaging in new learning activities in their environment. We are so pleased with how well the children have settled into school. The children have already begun to start learning the letter 'm' and 'a'. They have also been learning the story of 'The Little Red Hen'. Please find attached this weeks newsletter to find out what they have been learning.

Year one-  The children have transitions into year one very well. They are showing great enthusiasm in their learning. They have been learning about Tudor houses and have started making their own Tudor houses by painting them and will continue to make these this week. Please continue to read at home, you're doing a great job! Please find the attached newsletter to find out more!
