Celebrating British Values
At St Cleer School we celebrate being Cornish; this is our valuing of Cornwall within Britain. We take part in an Annual St Cleer Well Dressing.
The ancient well in St Cleer Village is decorated with posies of flowers given by the children. The whole school danced up to the well accompanied by Cornish bagpipes. The Lord's Prayer was read in Cornish and we sang the traditional Cornish anthem, Trelawney.
Sheryl Murrey, our Member of Parliament, spoke about the importance of Cornish and British Values. She praised the behaviour of all the children, and said that they are a credit to Cornwall and to Britain.
We are inspired by the awe and wonder of the world.
We are bold and innovative in our approach to find new solutions to the challenges we face.
We are the best we can be.
We take responsibility for our actions in an environment of mutual respect.
We overcome all barriers to reach our potential, developing a capacity to improve further.
We are passionate about learning.
