St Cleer Primary Academy is set in a beautiful rural location with wonderful views of the Caradon hills. We have excellent school grounds with a large school field and football pitch, an attractive adventure playground, Forest School, gardening and environmental areas. The school even has its own miniature railway!

The school was recognised by Ofsted as an Outstanding School. This is the highest grade awarded by Ofsted inspectors.

All staff at St Cleer Academy have high academic expectations of pupils which are both realistic and challenging. At the same time, we seek to foster each child’s sporting, creative and artistic talents, supporting the curriculum with a vibrant and enjoyable programme of extra-curricular activities. We believe it is important to recognise and celebrate the children’s personal achievements, whether secured in school or elsewhere. To help meet these objectives, the school works in active partnership with parents and continues to build positive relationships with the wider community in which our children live.

We are proud of the work that goes on in this school, and we are keen to share it with you.

We are almost at Half Term already - how time flies! It has been a good start to 2019. We are all enjoying our whole school topic: Dream, Design, Do.

This Topic encapsulates the Values we share as one of the Bridge family of schools:

- be creative
- be determined
- be responsible
- be curious
- be excellent
- be enthusiastic

Children from St Cleer are joining with the other Bridge schools just after half term to explore what these values really mean for us - Watch this space!

All these values were shown by the teams that took part in the Youth Speaks competition, an annual event organised by the Rotary Club. The winning team here spoke at the semi-finals in Devonport High School, Plymouth. They spoke about caring for endangered animals, in particular koalas. Their creativity, determination and enthusiasm held the attention and respect of a packed tiered lecture hall. Public speaking is such an important life skill. Well done girls!
