Florian Quartet

Former pupil, Anna Brigham, visited school this week. We thoroughly enjoyed a whole school assembly filled with inspiring music.

Year 5 were lucky enough to have a follow up workshop which will culminate in a performance at the STERTS Theatre in 2020.

GLEE CHOIR ARE BUSY PREPARING...

We are creeping closer to the festive period and performances. Glee Choir have been meeting regularly to prepare costumes and to ensure they are in fine voice!

Go to our Events Page for dates and times of key events in December. We look forward to seeing you at some of them.

PARENT VIEW

Thank you so much to those parents who took the time to complete a parent questionnaire at our recent parent's evenings.

Your views are very important to us and as a staff it was great to get so many positive comments:
'Every single child is looked after in a safe and friendly environment.'
'There are fantastic teachers – very supportive and understanding and always give me time.'
'There is a strong and consistent approach and vision.'

We also very much appreciate your views on what we could do to make things even better which included:
- Looking after staff
- Parking
- Music and club provision
- Security of the site
- Refurbishments to maintain the building into the future

We are all committed to maintaining good relationships with you and the community to ensure that your child does their very best in their time with us here at St Cleer.

ONLINE SAFETY

Thank you to those parents who made it to the Online Safety Workshop with Mr Lewis and I. We have created a guidance booklet for parents which can be found in the Keeping Safe - Online Safety section of our website.

This is a discussion that is worth us having as educators and parents and I hope in the future we will be able to run a follow up session in support of ensuring our children are innovators in IT and not just passive consumers.

A SHORT BURST OF ENERGY AND ENTHUSIASM TO START THE DAY!

Well done to all of the children and staff who took part in the Joe Wicks' Children in Need workout!

We got moving together as a reminder of the power of the group and how important it is to put our efforts into helping others when we can.

We managed to raise £238.65 - which is a fantastic effort! Thank you so much for your support in this today - the children looked great in their sports gear!

National Anti-Bullying Week

This week is anti-bullying week. Thank you to the parents that have flagged the #bekind campaign launched by ITV. We talked about this in assembly on Friday and will again tomorrow. Our challenge this week is to find opportunities to be kind to each other and to our selves. By spreading a little kindness to those around us we help to support our own well-being as well as others. I wonder what you will do this week to show the power of one person's choice to #bekind.
"In a world where you can be anything, be kind."

When you go home tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today.

Thank you so much to school council who came with me to visit the Oak Tree at St Cleer Church today to lay some crosses made by one of our pupil's great grandfather for Remembrance Sunday. It meant a lot to him to have some of our pupils there to remember a time in history that still leaves its imprint on many of our families.

READ ALL ABOUT IT!

What a wonderful article in the Cornwall Times. I was speaking to one of our parents about this Friday night. What a wonderful achievement and so lovely that is has been picked up by the local press. Thank you to Mr Jones and of course to the parents and children who took part in this venture with such enthusiasm and positivity. I am curious as to where this might lead in the future.

Thank you so much PTA!

A massive thank you to our fantastic PTA who organised the Halloween Disco here at St Cleer tonight. I am typing this Blog listening to the laughter and fun that the community are having and as this is my final post for the week I shall go and join them in the remainder of the fun. Have a safe and fun-filled weekend!

Cross Country Running

Congratulations to all of the children and parents who took part in the cross country event today. St Cleer was very well represented and the children did exceptionally well. Particularly well done to Tahlula who was the first girl to cross the finish line.

They have inspired me to complete my first park run this weekend. I hope that I am prepared for the rolling running hills of Cornwall! Wish me luck and thank you to the parents who gave me some advice and encouragement today to go ahead with it!
